International Convention Marpol 73/78 Annex V. The revision of Marpol Annex V based on regulation M EPC 70 has been in effect since March 1, 2018. The main changes include the addition of a category (E-Waste) to the waste log book with additional criteria for determining and assessing cargo residue based on the Level of damage to the Sea. The new law provides different restrictions on the types of cargo residue. For example, residue containing substances that are less hazardous to the environment which have lower disposal limits than other hazardous residues. The entire structure of the waste log book has been revised to create separate sections for bulk carrier / cargo cargo residue. And another set for all other waste that applies to the entire merchant fleet (meaning all types of ships).
